Each year the band puts on a supper in
memory of Robbie Burns, the poet. It held on a weekend close to
his birthday, 25 January. In 2011, it was held on 22 January at the
Gaythorne RSL, a venue that has well looked after us for a number of
years. With some help from the Wynnum Pipe Band who provided some
drummers and a couple of extra pipers, the Clans Band did
a brace of sets to entertain the diners.
The band marches in to 'Bluebells' and 'The Rowan Tree'.
We play 'Balmoral' and 'Pipe Major J K Cairns'
We play our 6/8 set, 'Mucking of Geordie's Byre', 'Steamboat', and
'Major A C W May's Farewell'.
The band marches out to 'Will Ye No' Come Back Again' and 'We're No'
Awa' Tae Bide Awa''.
